We had @polarplayground bookmarked for the longest time! This store makes cotton candy art - essentially transforming your cotton candy into your favourite character. Here are some tips if you’re planning a visit ⬇️✨ They only open Thursday-Sunday ✨ They open at 1pm. If you want to avoid long waits, I’d arrive 10-15 minutes before opening. Lots of people told me they waited 1.5+ hours when they went during peak time✨ They are located in a complex so there’s ample parking ✨ They have a list of characters they make - this is posted on their stories and at the store ✨ They make each by hand (quite quickly) and it’s so fun to watch them make the various orders ✨ Price: On average it’s $18 USD per cotton candy character ✨ They have select seating in-store. NEW HONG KONG CAFE / MEAT SKEWER SPOT IN BURNABY?? @happyvalleyfoodcity recently opened at the old Swiss Chalet location. What’s interesting is when you walk in they have two separate sides: one HK cafe and the other a dim sum/meat skewer/beer spot! We tried the @hv.cafe side and I was pleasantly surprised at how good the food was! I really liked the baked Portuguese pork chop with spaghetti dish. You can also customize the baked dishes with rice/noodle/tater tots, sauces and protein. I definitely will come back with friends to try @hv.wonderhouse !
