3 of the things I did to help me lose fat & build muscle ⬇️ 👉🏻 Incorporate a habit of getting in around 10k steps a day! - The value of daily movement is something I think can be very underrated when it comes to wanting to lose weight or having a healthy lifestyle in general. And this isn’t about obsessing over steps & feeling pressured to get exactly 10k steps every day. For me it’s about keeping in mind to try to add in extra daily movement because it aligns with my goals, but MOSTLY because it feels so good for both mind & body to get some extra movement in as I spend a lot of my day sitting in front of a computer 🫶🏻 - This can be done by making a few smart switches, for ex) taking the stairs instead of the elevator, walking to the gym / work instead of taking the car, or adding in an extra daily walk! 👉🏻 Eating in a calorie deficit! - The key to losing fat / weight is eating in a calorie deficit, which basically means you’re eating less calories than you’re burning every day! - If you’re wanting to lose fat & build or maintain muscle I would recommend eating in a slight calorie deficit, so that you still have enough energy to get stronger / maintain strength in the gym! Also, remember to keep your protein intake high (aim for at least 2 grams of protein per KG bodyweight every day)🫶🏻 👉🏻 Train to / close to failure! - I think another thing that is often overlooked and a reason why a lot of people don’t see the results they want to in the gym is simply that they do not train hard enough! - It is so important when it comes to building muscle to actually really push yourself during your workouts. Don’t just go through the motions, train with intention & full focus! Give each set & each rep your all! I’ve been so happy lately In a way that I’ve never been before. Because I’ve literally always had some mental battle that I’ve struggled with, whether it be an eating disorder, body dysmorphia, extreme stress, anxiety etc. But lately I’ve just been loving life, being so happy. I moved to Spain which has been my dream for the longest time. I have my dream job, as an online coach & with social media - a job that I love with all my heart. I’m just so happy, grateful & blessed. And now I kinda find myself struggling / having a mental battle because I’m questioning whether I deserve to feel this happy 🥲 so ironic… I’ve worked so hard for so long to be where I am today, and to feel how I’m feeling today. And now that I am, I’m struggling to enjoy it because I just keep questioning whether I deserve it or not. And I’ve fought so hard, for so long to be kinder to myself & less hard on myself. But sometimes it all just comes creeping back in tbh My anxiety is slowly creeping back in because I’m not sure I’m doing enough. Which has always been a big struggle for me, never feeling like anything I do is enough, or good enough. So I’m like am I doing enough to deserve to be this happy? I just felt like being real about my current thoughts, and what’s been on my mind lately. I definitely feel like I’m in a little slump, not really feeling like myself, but it’ll get better 🫶🏻 and I don’t want anyone to take this the wrong way, thinking I’m complaining about anything at all! I’m so blessed, so grateful, but I do have my mental struggles as well & I felt like sharing them 🫶🏻
