Out beyond the labels game And ideas of wrong and right There is a field of being I’ll meet you there Here when the soul lies amongst the grass The world is to whole to whisper about it Every soul has its own unique melody Every heart has its own unique beat The space between labels and wrong and right and where you want to be is bridged by the becoming. That person you are becoming is built by how often you lean into your heart and allow your mind to connect to it too. To create what YOU really want. What do you really want if you dropped all the labels, wrong and rights?
At some point in life we must either learn to live with paradox and ambiguities, or we will be children in adult bodies struggling for the rest of our life. At the same time our inner child must still shine to bring the vulnerability, rawness and beauty alive in life. However we must do this in an adult world. So we must learn better ways then from our childhood to cope and respond to life. We must learn to heal, nourish and set boundaries so we can stop struggling with life and the child that we are dances and blooms, instead of sink into the darkness. You see what’s so great about birds, besides their majestic beauty, is that they are above us, where we are so earthbound and they are in away free— This is so similar, especially to our children in their vulnerability and that is what we all crave as adults.A fav quote of mine to remember this is ‘Angels can fly because they can take themselves lightly’. for me means you don’t take it seriously or personally, it’s a play on words. In a literal sense, it can also mean that the angels travel around (take themselves) in a light manner (ie. flight).
Some people will get mad at you for not being who they want you to be. Or numbers will just show us we are not enough to be noticed. However we forget one of the biggest forms of self-betrayal is living our life by others rules instead of our own. So many of us are living by others rules and betraying ourselves with our current lives around us and social media. No wonder we all struggle with mental health, connecting to ourselves and others. We are not born to be amongst a numbered orientated social media platform or perfect world of ideals. We have forgotten we are born to be humans and our task is not to be perfect, compete, compare or be like something. It is simply to: be kind, be real, stay humble, keep growing, and unapologetically live our best life. However, so many of us instead get lost so often in searching for meaning in every start, ending and every moment, and try to dig into the ‘why’ so deeply. But we forget we will only ever see ourselves, because we have walls up that keep the person in the mirror always protecting our hearts and egos. The real beauty of life experience, closure and peace exists within our acceptance of what we cannot change. When we stop looking for answers and within the spaces we can not assign to a box or label we learn acceptance.Until we learn this and it’s a journey of a lifetime. I to hope it’s beautiful wherever we all are. If not I hope you remember you are beautiful and awesome and can make it beautiful. And I hope we all keep working on making ourselves proud as we journey to acceptance.
Nude is not always NaturalAnd Natural is not always nudeNature is not always bad And Nature is not always goodHope is not always healthyAnd fear is not always with dangerAction is not always with comfortAnd comfort is not always healthyBreath awareness is not always automaticAnd breath subconsciously is not always productiveLove is not always safeAnd pain is not always wreckingSo find your natural Remembering it is not alwaysWhat we think it should beThese spaces we choose can be a safe place to rest your head. A place without artifice, or decoration, or armour. With no hiding spots. Everything may be unguarded, and unvarnished, and yet there is freedom in that kind of openness, in that kind of vulnerability. There is freedom in being known there.
We heal, work on ourselves, do fitness and meditation to experience more joy in life. To be able to sleep better. To decrease anxiety and worry. To live with a clear conscience. To have deeper connections with ourselves and others. To be able to be more whole. To have a more harmonious mind. To be proud of what we've created. It's not always something you will see from the outside like social media sells. Some of the people that inspire me the most are the ones that social media numbers doesn’t do justice for their inspiring journey’s, the ones that I meet as I walk my journey through life offline.Recently I met at the @movement.flow retreat a gentleman who had a stroke he is nearly 60. He has regained nearly all his movement back to the point that he was beating me at a reaction time catching game, we did. That was inspiring. I also met an incredible human a beautiful lady who came to the retreat after beating cancer. She is the most beautiful mover and had to relearn it and now teaches yoga. Neither of these souls did it for a number, they did it for them. My father who doesn’t have social media really. He shattered his femur and was told he’d never walk again. Now he is 70 plus bush walking, surfing, cycling, swimming, playing tennis and even did some running a few years ago. He did it for himself and his better tomorrow’s. My brother had a hip that had to be broken and reset so he could move properly. He was told his running days were numbered. He just ran the Hawaiian marathon. Please let us not forget in the end it does not really matter who I am or who you are. In the end all that matters is not the clothes on our backs, the likes on socials, the items that held our hearts, the money in our banks or the goals we accomplished. What really matters more are the footprints in the sand we leave for better tomorrows and the ripple effect that stays long after we are gone. Our names may never be known but the seeds will be sown and that is the real magic. The nameless, faceless magic that sprinkles the world with hope, courage and a little more love.Who inspires you?
I am feeling a little shy sharing this because I am not a piano player myself. I am a dreamer you could say. This series I’ve shared I did not know the photographer caught these captures. We were having a break between shooting and I saw the piano and decided to sit down and have a crack. Dust off my very limited skills and see what came out. Nothing impressive but a lot of joy. This reel actually makes me smile not just because the art this photographer has created is beautiful and I am humbled to be a part of it. Not because I am any good either. But because this reel shows me, I have grown as a person. I am a very shy person and sitting down and simply playing knowing I am not very good means I let my inner child play and discover without question of if I am good or can or not. On top of this, sharing this art would usually make me doubt myself because so many people are ready to make mincemeat of you these days online. Social Media Works...Me: I prefer Mangoes to Oranges.Random Person: So basically what you are saying is you hate oranges? You also failed to mention pineapples, bananas, grapefruits. Education yourself. I am literally shaking.I think we have forgotten in this world that failure and just learning and growing is part of the process too. Or just trying for no reason. Usually we only share our successes, beauty or pretend successes.A big part of our stress today is not accepting failure, striving for perfection and not accepting aging. If only we could relearn and remember it’s all part of the process and it is okay to share these parts of us too. It would make being human a little less stressful and even more enjoyable. Children often play and discover and grow because they don’t have the draw of standards they open and see they fail and say I’m not worthy. They have draws of experience and learning that align with joy. Let’s try it again when they open them. Let your inner child shine, allow space for you to learn and discover even if the world can’t appreciate it. You will and your life and mental health will benefit too.
To Strength in Softness To Beauty in the Visible To Light in the Darkness To Kindness blooming with Fear To the Unimaginable not seen until it’s done.To Acceptance in a world of wrong and right To no definition in a world of labels To the undefinable in the world of always needing to compare and define To the slow and mindful in a world of instant gratification and doing it now To the plant growing through concrete on its on journey, in a world that has a to do list for everything to make us all our best selves. Yet we all feel stressed because we can’t do it all anyway. This plant reminds us against all the odds, the things and reasons it should be doing it or not it still grows, and so we will. Stay in your own lane and just do you any way on your on terms and merits. Because growth will still happen. To just simply being in a world that has forgotten how and makes us question everything we are. Just be. I have no idea where all this will lead us but I feel it will be both strange and beautiful and beyond. Energy cannot be created that is a scientific fact. I often ponder this when I ponder love. Love is a verb. It’s a doing word. It is the energy we give to ourselves and others and this world. If it is there, it cannot be denied, cannot fall through the cracks or slip out of our hands. And no amount of bargaining with our heart will inspire or produce it. You cannot force a feeling or energy. You can only become it. That’s why to be the change you wish to see is such a powerful reminder to me. To be anything and do anything we must simply be.
There are so many things I would like to voice and so much injustice we all feel but sometimes we must realize silence, focusing on something else and finding gratitude is also a powerful way.She felt like doing her part to change the World. So she started by giving thanks for all the blessings in her life, rather than bemoaning all that was missing from it. Then she complimented her reflection in the mirror instead of criticising it as she usually did. Next she walking into her neighbourhood and offered her smile to everyone she passed, whether or not they offered theirs to her. Each day she did these things and soon they became habit. Each day she lived with more gratitude, more acceptance, more kindness. And sure enough, the world around her began to change. Because she had decided so, she was single-handedly doing her part to change it.Blessed for you all happy weekend love us xo
As I sit here at this piano many will assume I play. However, all I know how to play is The Sailors Dance (off by heart). With a book and notes written in The Lion King Can You Feel the Love to Tonight, Edelweiss & Inspector Gadget theme song. Lol weird combo right. I learnt the keyboard as a child. Mum said I was nothing special at it but i tried. The world sees, the world knows that is how it works here on social media. But our stories are very unique & not what is seen. Truthfully nobody knows our stories except we who live them. To play devils advocate though, we who live our stories are rewriting them also & learning our own stories too everyday. So our stories are truly all perspective & subjective. The lies we tell ourselves & the stories we tell ourselves will either make us or break us. For those not reading the caption, looking at this picture, they may assume I play. Assuming always creates Chinese whispers. But that isn’t my truth that’s just theirs. Do I own that or my truth? Neither I live & work on being unapologetically human learning & growing. Truth is it’s never been my priority for my time to learn piano with all the other life choices. So I’m a dreamer with respect for all those that apply themselves in this area of life. In a world of pretending & trying to be everything. I’m going to tell you there is no shame in just being honest with who you are. Sharing moments as they are & telling the stories, your story rather than pretending. It is truly gifting because it is what keeps us real & connected in a world of disconnected pretending. It also helps us find those we really resonate with. You see at the end of the day, aren’t we all really just trying to connect & be seen too. So let’s just do it with who we are & what we have. Instead of what we pretend to be. One of the biggest things that I learned in life about keeping it real is habits are a big key. Habits either guarantee success, failure or somewhere lost in the middle. Because the habit of indecision prevents us from picking a side to focus on. What is something you dreamed of being good at but never built habits to make it happen? As you can tell mine was music.
