Afternoon musings.. When you open yourself up to being corrected without being defensive, you open yourself up to perspective and empathy - which means allowing yourself to experience the pain of another in order to understand your own influence upon those and the world around you. Empathy is a scary thing for those not prepared for the burden their decisions may have caused, and thus why accepting one’s wrong doing can be so intimidating. Take accountability. It feels good to do better - to be better, to show others how to be so. #wordtothewise
I am no longer waiting for people to change, I am opening myself up to meeting people already in alignment with who I am or wish to be. I am no longer grounding myself in desire of certain outcomes, hoping that circumstance may bless my ego. My happiness and success is not contingent upon chance, and while these powerful aspects go hand in hand, these hands are mine. And my hands will not be held cupped together, open and upward in request - my hands will be reaching, digging, grasping firmly at what is rightfully mine. And what is rightfully mine exists in light and love and goodness. What is rightfully mine is healthy and peaceful. Your life reflects the love you give to yourself and the love you accept from others. It’s important to make sure you haven’t convinced yourself that love is something it isn’t. Love is not easy. • May you lace your words with love, in your touch and through your presence.
Energy is everything. The outer state is a result of the inner state. As disheartening as news such as this may be, it’s important to embody hope through your emotional and thus physical response instead of dwelling and thus cultivating and perpetuating the negative energy we wish to change. Scientists have observed that it takes 3 positive experiences to offset but 1 negative experience. Negativity, darkness - these experiences weigh more than that of joy and love. This seems logical, no? If you respond to sadness with strictly sadness, sadness will thrive. But if you allow sadness to pass through you and leave hope and love in it’s wake, it leaves opportunity for something new and powerful to grow. You may be but one, but it is merely one who turned into many that manifested the now current reality of Iran - and of any climate we experience within our collective. Ground firmly in hope, do not give your power away, take breaks in exhaustion or dis-courage, but don’t build a home there. Evil always gives its greatest battle in the final act. The world is waking up. When you bear witness to “bad news”, be sure to leave the experience on a hopeful note. Three seconds of prayer and well wishes before moving on to your next experience. Revisit that new seed with sentiments of hope any time it enters your mind. For if you only perceive something as bad, or sad, or terrifying, it will only ever be so. And if the masses wake up to love, love seeps in, like water trickling down to the deepest and thirstiest of roots, giving life to something new. Do not let these conversations die with these people.
